A new brand at The Devil’s Garden!

For all barbecue lovers out there we have a special treat for you! The Devil’s Garden now has four new products from the increasingly famous American brand Eaton’s, which, believe us, goes a lot further than just a simple seasoning at a couple of barbecues a year, weather permitting.

Our British sunshine not being the most reliable (understatement of the century at the moment!), we are really pleased to see that Eaton’s products work really well in an oven, fried in a pan or as an added “je ne sais quoi” to stews.

From their Original Jamaican Jerk Barbecue Sauce to their Jamaican Jerk Seasoning (hot or mild) and Jamaican Jerk Hot Sauce, there is a little something for everyone: the family chef, the timid housewife and the lazy bachelor.

So go on and have a try at Eaton’s fabulous range of Jamaican spices that will make you feel like you’re on holiday in a tropical island. All that’s left to do it make a mean Margherita or iced Rum Cocktail to go with it!

We added a new category of product a few weeks ago entitled “Spices & Chillies”, starring dried whole habanero and chipotle chillies, habanero powder and Naga Jolokia Flakes.

We have now gotten our hands on many more varieties of chillies and cannot wait for you to experiment them in your cooking. Dried chillies are absolutely great in Mexican cuisine but can also be used in various other dishes from Italian to American and Moroccan.

The sweet earthy Pasilla chilli peppers are extremely versatile, just as much as the tad more robust Guajillo chillies. The fruity flavour of the Ando chillies are much acclaimed while Mulato chillies will transport you to South America in a jiffy!

For something on the hotter side, try De Arbol chilli peppers, fiery little devils that will definitely keep you awake for a few more hours! The New Mexican chilli peppers are some of our favourite variety thanks to their fragrance that will make you want to chop some up and sprinkle them on your cereals for breakfast!

We are still experimenting with all of these so do not hesitate to let us know what wonderful culinary delight you have come up with!

Greenhouse Sensations

At the Devil’s Garden we let others create amazing chilli products but if there is one thing that we are keen on, it’s growing chillies and vegetables for our own personal use.

Planting seeds and watching them germinate is always an exciting and obsessive process, waiting for them to reach full growth and produce edibles though, is another. Sometimes plants turn out great and sometimes it all seems like a waste of time, effort and money.

Our solution to this somewhat universal problem: Greenhouse Sensations and their fabulous range of hydroponics. We are keen to introduce to you all that they have to offer but for now have a look at the three different kinds of hydroponics available on The Devil’s Garden’s website.

Thanks to the help of self-watering pots (sold by 4 or 8) and carefully chosen nutrients, you will be able to harvest twice as much fruits and vegetables than you normally would, if not three times as much (our first attempt last year gave us way over 250 cherry tomatoes from just one plant!!) for half the effort.

Their WindowGrow is ideal for those living in the middle of a city with limited outdoor space. Pop it on your balcony, go on holiday, and enjoy fresh lettuces, garden herbs or whatever your favourite fruit or veg is upon your return!

We have much more to say about this so watch this space and have a go at growing phenomenal crops!

The Devil’s Garden’s Recipes!

As mentioned in an earlier blog, we have carefully selected recipes that we think work well with a lot of products from the Devil’s Garden, one that we use on a regular basis. We hope this will give you the opportunity to be adventurous and will give you an idea of what ingredient works best with which chilli product.

Our recipes can be found at the bottom right of our home page and although we only have a few showing for now (some with photos to be uploaded), we are keen to add as many recipes as possible over the coming weeks.

So why not try our chilli apple pie over the weekend? Invite your friends over and serve them a Fiery Spanish Stew, Spicy Chinese Noodles or one of our favourite, chilli mac & cheese! Our Chilli Chocolate Coconut Macaroons are proving to be a real hit with kids while our quick Red Lentil Dhal is much appreciated by their tired parents!

We cannot wait to hear from you and look forward to receiving suggestions and even your own recipes using the Devil’s Garden’s products!
