New Spicy Products

We have recently expanded our range of chilli products and are now dipping our toes into the world of spices.

Come and check out our new category, Chillies & Spices where four new products have been added. You can now incorporate dried Habanero or Chipotle chillies into your cooking (or eat them whole if you dare!) and play around with ground Habanero chilli powder and Naga Jolokia chilli flakes (which we should mention are AWESOME on pizza!).

Our aim is to provide quality spices and chillies that don’t lose their flavour over time and are much better value for money than what you would find at the supermarket or in specialist shops.

We will endeavour in the coming months to increase and develop this category which is for us very exciting as we love experimenting with various combinations of spices and flavours in our cooking. So watch this space as this is only the beginning of what we would like to think as your one stop shop for chillies and spices!

Spicy Snacks - For When You Need a Chilli Fix!

At the Devil’s Garden we have a good range of spicy snacks for those times when you just need a chilli fix.

Blair’s Death Rain Habanero crisps are just great and with a packet larger than average you really get value for money. Beware though, as these are much hotter than what you would find in an average shop! Blair’s Chipotle crisps are a bit milder but have that particular smoky taste that just makes us weak in the knees!

A lot of our customers ask us about chilli nuts. Firefoods ones are quite hot but incredibly tasty and perfect for this summer’s barbecues. Dave’s Burnin Nuts are for advanced users only as these will make a grow man cry. Dave’s Smokin BBQ Nuts are milder but absolutely cracking!

If you’re in need of chocolate, try any of the Dartmoor Farm chilli chocolates. From milk to dark, from mint and coffee to orange, their produce is superb. Their new range is also great (fruit & nut, apricot pieces and whole almonds) and we’re having a lot of success with their Dark Chocolate with Ginger Pieces.

Firefoods also produce picked onions called Fire Onions which we highly recommend… although we’ve been cursed a couple of times with these as the burn lingers for a good half hour!!

Mr Vikki’s King Naga – The hottest natural chilli pickle in the UK!

Mr Vikki’s King Naga, one of our bestsellers, is without a doubt one of the best chilli preserves we have ever tasted.

The Naga chilli, also known as bhut jolokia originates from India and in 2007 Guinness World Records certified it as the world's hottest chili pepper, 400 times hotter than Tabasco sauce.

Bhut Jolokia pods are unique among peppers, with their characteristic shape, and their unusual rough, dented and very thin skin.

The pepper is used in India in homeopathic preparations for stomach ailments. It is also used as a spice as well as a remedy to summer heat, presumably by inducing perspiration in the consumer.

Mr Vikki’s has managed to find a delicate balance between the pungent Naga chilli and a special blend of spices, refining what could be any other chilli preserve into a magnificent condiment to use and abuse (with moderation though, as Mr Vikki’s heat factor on that one is an incredible 8!).

If for you food is always a bit blend, try this wonderful pickle that goes with just about anything, from sandwiches to roast chicken, creamy sauces to fiery meatballs!

Coming Soon.....

After experimenting for quite a while with a whole range of fiery products and trying them out in traditional cooking we thought we’d let you have the recipes for our most successful attempts.

Our team has sweat over a hot stove over the last few weeks to concoct wonderful meals although some creations just had to be thrown away, either inedible as we underestimated some of our most deceivingly hot products, while others didn’t blend well or turned sour under too much heat.

So make sure to keep an ear out for those recipes which will be on our website soon, linked to the specific Devil’s Garden’s products they refer to. We are endeavouring not to stick to main courses so our “cookbook” will include starters and desserts as well as quick snacks.

Hope you will come back to these recipes time and time again, chilli products are now in about 85% of our food (no boss, I will NOT put any chillies in steak & ale pie, there are limits!) so be assured that we will expend this cookbook over the coming months!
